Hosted by Luxury Travel Advisor, the bracket-style competition saw 64 hotels from all over the world battle it out over a number of weeks to make it into the finals, with readers determining who moves into the next round. Hotels are separated into four regional brackets: The Americas; Asia and Indian Ocean; Europe; and Africa, Middle East and Oceania.
In an absolute feat, the Victorian hotel made it into the final eight on the competition, and while didn’t proceed to make it into the grand final, to be named as one of the world’s eight most beautiful hotels is certainly an achievement – and dream – for any luxury accommodation… Especially considering the hotel beat out other stays in places like Zurich, Dubai, Rwanda, Miami, Mexico, Vietnam, Ireland, France and Italy.

The three lavish, two-bedroom, two-bath retreats have been crowned number one in a range of lists around the world, and is where to go to experience clifftop views, stunning architecture, amazing design, alongside luxurious massage chairs, pinball machines, French wood fireplaces, hand-woven floor rugs from New Zealand, couple’s spas, stone baths, and velvet sofas.
There are even recycled hardwood king-sized beds, quirky Rone art, indoor and outdoor daybeds, glass floors with a waterfall underneath, and mood lighting that changes the colour of the whole villa, plus countless other breathtaking features.
You will find a playstation in every villa, as well as huge wall-mounted TVs, if a digital detox isn’t totally up your plus one’s alley. The best part though has to be the glass cube with glass floor overlooking the valley, with nothing inside but a velvet daybed… oh and the wooden bathtub. Truly luxe.
