Meet Tracks Festival.
Victorians have a new festival to look forward to in early 2022, as new event Tracks Festival has announced its first-ever run in Warrnambool this summer.
The one-day event is set to delight music fans as it transforms Merri Street (the location of Warrnambool Food Truck Festival) into an immersive open-air dance music event, featuring both live bands and DJs to have punters (18+ only) dancing well into the night.
The key takeaways
- A new festival is coming to Warrnambool this summer
- Tracks Festival is set for January featuring local and international acts
- The festival has been created by the organiser behind the popular Warrnambool Laneway Bar
Slated for January 8 2022, Tracks Festival is courtesy of organiser Patrick O’Brien, the brains behind the aforementioned Food Truck Festival and the popular Warrnambool Laneway Bar, a pop-up venue that provides locals quality nights of beers, good tunes and means to celebrate with friends.
As reported by The Warrnambool Standard, O’Brien has been crafting the event for the better part of three years, looking to fill the gap in Warrnambool’s entertainment market, especially following the closure of iconic music venues like The Loft, Your Break, Lucy, and The Gallery, to name a few.
While the lineup is yet to be announced, it’s rumoured there will be four quality headliners and four local support acts, with plans for that to include international artists. Regardless of who they get, we’re betting it’s going to be a serious vibe for summer, especially with legends behind the Laneway Bar curating it.
