The fourth Annual Chicken Nugget Festival returns to Welcome To Thornbury this March
Prepare your bellies: this weekend the fourth annual Chicken Nugget festival will return to the grounds of Welcome To Thornbury, paying homage to the humble fried treat.
Expecting to serve up over 50,000 nuggets on the day. Attendees will be able to enjoy a wide variety of tasty nugget variations. In addition, there will be live music entertainment and the chance to enter the coveted nugget eating competition for one day only.

There’ll be several nugget-inspired food options from vegan, teriyaki to butter chicken flavoured nuggets. These will be available from; Mr Burger, Maria Taqueria, Sparrows Philly Cheese Steaks, Hesi Jimbo and Chef Calamari. Plus, Welcome to Thornbury will also be dishing out their own ‘Nuggie Boxes’ with 3 or 6 piece nuggets, chips and a nugget themed toy – available to all the big kids at heart!
10 lucky attendees who enter on the day will also have the chance to compete in a bespoke nugget eating competition, lovingly dubbed the ‘Nuggetthon’ commencing at 2:30pm. The winner who successfully eats the most nuggets will take home not only bragging rights but also receive a Welcome To Thornbury medal and a saucy Nugget t-shirt.
There’ll be DJs on deck all day including Lochie Arthur and ANYO, plus the usual full bar filled with frosty beers on tap, wine and cocktails to wash it all down. Welcome to Thornbury also always is dog friendly for those with furry friends on leads.
General Manager of Welcome To Thornbury, Paul O’Brient said, “We’re absolutely pumped to be running this Chicken Nugget festival again to Welcome to Thornbury. It’s one of our biggest events on the calendar and one the team look forward to most every year.”
He continued, “We encourage all nugget fans to dip in and give us your best shot at the ‘Nuggetthon”! Come Saturday, we will have chicken nugget themed merch and the deep fryers reared up and ready to go, will be a fun day!”
The fourth annual Chicken Nugget festival will take place from 12pm-6pm. Entry is free however, tables can be booked via the website.
