The trio have just dropped their second album, ‘Imposter Syndrome’.

Two years on since their debut album ‘Cult Classic’, and emo pop-rockers Happy. are finally back with their second LP ‘Imposter Syndrome’.

Produced by Marc McClusky (Weezer, Motion City Soundtrack, The Front Bottoms), Happy. have really honed in on their sound with the release, resulting in an impressive collection of 10 tracks, packed with upbeat melodies, surging riffs, driving beats and slightly dark lyrical content.

A narrative on the band’s personal experience with the effects of Imposter Syndrome, Happy. explain that “from the lows of depression, anxiety, and addiction, to the highs of traveling, making friends and living the dream, this record is our everlasting chase for ‘success.”

To celebrate the release of the album, the band have shared their top five underrated horror movies – just in time for Halloween.

The Endless
This is a Lovecraft/Cosmic Horror film directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. They have a prequel to this movie called Resolution. It isn’t a MUST for you to see it first, but it will make the experience twice as good. The easter eggs throughout this film are wild. It’s more of a mind-bending thriller than a horror movie, but I’ve watched it over 10 times. These directors have put out a new film this year called ‘Synchronic’ that I’m SO STOKED to see.

Creep
Both ‘Creep’ and its sequel, ‘Creep 2’ are absolutely incredible. There are only 2 characters in the whole movie. It is about a videographer that responds to an odd job on craigslist. Mark Duplass is fantastic in this. It’s not a jump scare type of movie, it’s an unsettling and very unnerving slow burn. 11/10.

Hell House LLC
The name sucks. Like totally sucks. I know what you’re thinking, and I thought the same thing. I put this movie on after I had exhausted all other options and expected very little from it. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. It is hands down the creepiest found footage film I’ve ever seen. (besides ‘Blair Witch’ of course, it’s a classic). This is about a group of people who buy and old house to transform it into a haunted house attraction for Halloween. If clowns freak you out, you’ll love this one.

Coherence
Oh boy. Where do I even start. This is a movie that I thought about for weeks after watching. It altered the way I thought about reality for a while. This movie is super low budget, but it WORKS. It makes the entire film so much more realistic. You feel like you’re watching someone’s life unfolding in real-time. It is a film about parallel universes and multiple dimensions, but without any Sci-Fi. It is so real. It takes place over the course of a dinner part. Must watch.

The Last Shift
This movie has everything. It checks all the boxes of horror. Ghosts, Cults, Serial Killers, Home Invasion etc. It has jump scares, gore, suspense, and a super interesting plot as well. This movie scared the shit out of me, and nothing scares me anymore. The perfect movie for a date night, friend sleep over, or Halloween!
