Branded as Australian outback poetry meets country Americana, The Little Lord Street Band continue the narrative on new album 'Time and Place'.
With praise coming in left, right and centre for The Little Lord Street Band from big guns ABC Country, Double J, Pilerats, and The Music, it’s hard to ignore their vice grip on the country music scene, even more so now with their latest offering, Time and Place.
The 11-track anthology released on Earth Day, Monday 22 April, is the second in the duo’s collection, long-awaited and ready for acclaim. It drops just in time for their upcoming tour which sees them step into Halls Gap for a show at the Grampians Grape Escape on Saturday 4 May.

True to its name, the album transports listeners into a space of time and place, through melancholic melodies, intricate guitar and raw and honest vocals that intertwine each track. Described as “matured honey-mead, sweet and warming”, the album captures the essence of looking back.
Jimmy Rogers of The Little Lord Street Band explains, “I guess it’s a ‘looking back’ album. It’s about when you get to that point in your life and you look back on what’s happened or what’s been going on. It’s that sort of longing for something that you can’t have back. It’s quite glass half empty, but at the same time, it’s about enjoying your memories.”
Across tracks, ‘Can’t Go Back’, ‘High Beams’, the titular ‘Time and Place’, and ‘The Mess’, listeners become part of the story, understanding in the struggles of the protagonist and riding through the journey of reflection with them.
It’s these soaking storytelling skills that have awarded The Little Lord Street Band the Best Country Act at the WAM Awards three times, boasted them into the Amrap charts for weeks and earned them a place on the BIGSOUND stage in 2018.
The album will be celebrated through a twelve-date tour across Western Australia and Victoria sitting into rural spaces along the track. The Victorian leg includes two back to back shows at Grampians Grape Escape in Halls Gap and at the Lomond Hotel in Brunswick East of Saturday 4 and 5 May, respectively.
