New songs From the Ferguson Rogers Process see the duo slink downtown from the music that they’ve made previously, with their own singular take on disco. It’s glamour meeting grit. It’s the movie star meeting the hustler. It’s discovering that there’s glitter in the gutter. It’s a revelatory combination of Rogers’ wry lyrics and Ferguson’s innate sense of groove.
With a band lead by Ferguson and featuring members of The Bamboos and Melbourne Boogie maestros Mondo Freaks and with one of this country’s greatest ever showmen on vocals, these shows promise to be something special. The third single from the album ‘Thumbs’ is out now following on from ‘Dirty-Clean’ and ‘Live Together’.
Lance Ferguson says, “I like to think that “The Process” in this case is hopefully what happens when someone experiences the music… I hope it ends up soundtracking some wild times.”
Tim Rogers adds, “Working with the Bamboos was such an enormous thrill and a life-threatening joy. These 10 songs are primarily for dancing, which is my second favourite life activity. And perhaps there is some lyrical bawdiness to tickle a bone. Come taste the Process.”
