The Bellarine’s beloved maze and mini golf course is set to return after being demolished last year

Prepare to be amazed once again.

Geelong’s much-loved fun park, A Maze’n Games, is looking likely to return to the Bellarine with a huge maze, adventure playground and minigolf course to boot.

Plans were submitted to the City of Greater Geelong for the family fun park to rebuild their business at a new location on the Bellarine Highway in Leopold.

Just 5km from where the previous venue was located, A Maze’n Games was sadly demolished back in October last year to make way for a $10 million petrol station development (boo!).

Revealing that the core of the business would remain the same, the $450,000 plans take to bottom half of the landowner’s 16,170sq m property, where it proposes to build a large timber maze, minigolf course, adventure playground, BBQ facilities, a cafe building and 41 parking spaces.

“Day to day operation of the facility would be of the same nature as the existing enterprise. Typically catering for small groups, birthday parties, families and the general public,” the documents read.

“The southern half of the subject land is vacant and unused. Historically it has been sparingly used for the keeping of hobby animals and minor grazing.”

Suggested opening times for the business would be from 10am to 6pm, seven days per week, with times extended to 6.30pm in January to cater for school holidays.

Renowned as Australia’s largest timber maze, it would be great to see the local attraction back in time for Victorians to take their puzzle-solving skills outdoors – especially after the shitshow of 2020 and for the most part, 2021.
