This musical endeavor, in collaboration with local communities, aims to bring a breath of fresh air to the live music scene.
The first concert to kick off this exciting series is a joint venture with the Portarlington Cricket Club, and it’s set to take place on Saturday, 28th October.
The stage will come alive with the sounds of Rhiz & The Sugarplums, accompanied by special guest Catie Alison. The event kicks off with meals and drinks at 6 pm, followed by a musical journey starting at 7 pm. The venue, none other than the charming Cricket Club Rooms in Portarlington, sets the stage for an enchanting evening.
Rhiz & The SugarPlums, consisting of Rhiannon McArthur (Rhiz) and members Pete Daffy, Jordy Hickey, and Mandy Keating, will take you on a musical trip through rockabilly, rock’n’roll, and country. With authentic 1950s-style vibes woven into their original compositions, they bring a nostalgic groove that’s hard to resist. From harmony-filled country ballads to old-school rock’n’roll, they’re all set to captivate your senses.
Hailing from Geelong, Catie Alison is a singer/songwriter who has been immersed in music from a young age. With a background in classical string music and international tours under her belt, she’s a musical force to be reckoned with. Her unique style combines playful lyricism with intricate layering of vocals and instruments, making for a memorable performance.
While entry is free, it’s a good idea to secure your spot by making a booking in advance. As the evening unfolds, you’ll be transported by the music and the setting. The Bellarine Sessions promise an experience that’s both intimate and vibrant, setting the stage for a memorable night out.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! Keep an eye out for more updates on upcoming concerts, including the one at BrewiColo Brewery in Ocean Grove on November 12, featuring Tim Scanlan and Mono Okubo, plus additional concerts as part of the Northern Bellarine Arts Trail.
The Bellarine Sessions is a collaborative project presented by community organizations, the National Celtic Folk Festival, and Regional Arts Victoria.
