In 2010 and 2011, Tex Perkins and the Tennessee Four performed a series of shows that tipped a hat to Johnny Cash. Now he is saddling up once again with ‘the Four’ in ‘Far from Folsom’.
Focusing on Cash’s legendary performances at Folsom and San Quentin prisons in the late 1960s, Perkins and his crew performed what was to be a special one off show at the Parramatta Correctional Centre last year.
Unsurprisingly, the buzz was so big that three shows were performed, with more than 7000 tickets bought within hours of going on sale.
Along with Rachel Tidd, Perkins and his gang are heading out for a round of shows. Ulumbarra, Bendigo – October 27.
