Melbourne’s LGBTQIA+ communities will soon come together for a celebration of diversity, inclusion and love as Victoria’s Pride brings the party to town.
Victoria’s LGBTQIA+ communities are gearing up for an electric celebration as the Victoria’s Pride Street Party returns, a vibrant one-day extravaganza set to light up Gertrude and Smith Streets in Fitzroy and Collingwood on Sunday, 11th February.
Happening as part of Victoria’s Pride (previously Melbourne Pride), held across the state from December to February, this event sees the iconic Gertrude and Smith Streets transform into a free, all-day, jam-packed, block party for all ages, with multiple live music stages and performances from local and international musicians and artists to celebrate Victoria’s diverse LGBTIQ+ communities.

This year, the event will be headlined by the incredibly talented First Nations artist, writer and producer Sycco, also known as Sash McLeod. Best known for singles including ‘Nicotine’, ‘Dribble’ and ‘Starboard Square’, she’ll be getting fans in the mood to party with her upbeat bedroom pop tunes.
Joining her on the stage will be renowned queer pop artists JXCKY and Kira Puru, along with Tom Nethersole and indie-rock singer Rin McArdle offering a unique and diverse listening experience.
The Pride Street Party is not just a musical extravaganza – it’s a free and inclusive festival featuring comedy, circus acts, drag shows and art installations spread across multiple venues. From 11 am to 9:30 pm, festival-goers can explore community and food stalls, engage in immersive activities and watch dazzling and exhilarating street performances.
The Pride Street Party is only one of the many LGBTQIA+ events set to take place in the coming weeks. Running from January 21 to February 11, Midsumma Festival is an explosion of creativity and queer joy.
From the massive Midsumma Carnival on opening day to more specific events including Queer PHOTO, the Pride Ride and the Afloat Pool Party, there’s truly something on the program for everyone (and a lot of it is free).
