Sporting Globe Expands With New Ballarat Venture

Sporting Globe have branched out yet again, making Ballarat the newest home for the popular sporting bar.

Located in Ballarat’s city centre on the corner of Mair and Lydiard street (previously Jackson’s and Co), the Sporting Globe officially opened early August – making it the chain’s seventh outlet and one of Australia’s largest sports bar, with the capacity to cater to around 450 people.

Appropriately named a sports bar and grill, the venue puts a massive focus on creating a sports atmosphere. Decking the place out with screens, displays and 13 red leather sports booths fitted with touch screens, sports lovers can watch the game from any angle.

Catering to lovers of all things tasty, the Globe boasts Australian and American favourites with their char-grilled steaks, baby back ribs and their signature chicken wings (personally we like the blazin’ hot buffalo). The state-of-the-art sports bar also offers seven day line-up of food and drink specials. Get your cheap burger fix on Thursdays, double dessert Fridays and super cheap cocktails on Sundays.

What’s more, the second floor is where you will find the venue’s premier function space, expanding into an upper sports bar with a heritage balcony. To sweeten the sound of this go-to hangout, a cocktail bar graces the third storey.

This new venue is in addition to the Geelong location and will give regional residents endless sporting, food and drink opportunities.

Located just a short walk from Ballarat’s cinema, the Globe is the perfect place to fill up for the movies – just make sure you leave room for popcorn!

The Sporting Globe Bar & Grill is located at 201 Mair Street, Ballarat and will be open seven days a week, from 11:30am to late. Find out more information via the website or facebook.
