Someone Has Started A Crowdfunding Campaign To Turn Pauline Hanson’s Fish ‘N’ Chip Shop Into A Halal Takeaway

It was only a matter of time. In the hubbub of social activity following Pauline Hanson’s re-election to the Australian Parliament, and her latest comments on Islam and halal certification, some joker has started a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign to purchase the controversial right-wing politician’s old fish ‘n’ chip shop in Ipswich… and turn it into a halal takeaway.

The store, where Hanson no doubt developed her political views over a slimy conglomeration of deep-fried calamari (definitely not halal) and smudged News Corp tabloid columns turned into wrapping paper, is apparently now owned by a Vietnamese couple running their own takeaway business.

But that hasn’t stopped one James Warne launching a crowdfunding campaign to the tune of $100,000.

“To make a point to the new senator elect from Queensland, Pauline Hanson, the purpose of this GoFundMe is to purchase Pauline Hansons’s old Fish and Chip shop and turn it into either a Kebab Shop or a Pop-Up Halal Snack-Pack store,” Warne’s description reads.

“I have no idea about how valuation is done for fish and chip shops so please feel free to suggest a price.”
