SAE Creative Media Institute, now a University College since 2023, has been at the forefront of creative media education for nearly 50 years.

SAE, Australia’s premier creative media institute, is celebrating a significant milestone as it transitions to University College status.

Recognised as one of the country’s superior self-accrediting higher education providers, SAE joins an elite group of just six other University Colleges nationwide, standing out as the sole institution dedicated to delivering creative media education on a national scale.

Joseph Anthonysz, CEO of SAE, expressed pride in this achievement, marking a pivotal moment in the institute’s 48-year history. With six campuses across five Australian States and one transnational campus in Dubai, he underscored SAE’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence and quality, emphasising its spotless regulatory record and two decades as an Australian Higher Education Provider.

“It has grown to be one of Australia’s largest independent providers, and, as a University College, is now recognised as one of the best.

“SAE is renowned for its highly relevant and practical curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities, teaching staff with strong industry experience and small classes offering an immersive learning environment.”

Anthonysz highlighted SAE’s exceptional student outcomes, rigorous academic standards, and robust industry engagement as key factors contributing to its new status. He also emphasised the institute’s dedication to industry relevance, boasting a curriculum designed to equip students with practical skills and real-world experience.

Dr Luke McMillan, SAE Australasia General Manager, echoed Anthonysz’s sentiments, stressing the institute’s commitment to prioritising student welfare and fostering a supportive learning environment.

“At SAE we pride ourselves on providing a learning environment where individuals from all backgrounds can explore and develop their creative talents,” he said. "Our students’ best interests are at the core of everything we do, and our elevation to University College status only strengthens that, now and into the future.”

Officially registered as a University College on 22nd December 2023 under the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (Cth) – Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021, SAE’s transition marks a significant step towards shaping the future of creative media education.
