Robert Burns Scottish Festival

Robert Burns (1759-1796) is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and in 2009 was chosen as the ‘Greatest Scot’ by a public vote run by Scottish television channel STV.

With its strong links to Scottish culture and history, Camperdown first held the Robert Burns Scottish Festival in 2012. Early performers for 2016’s include Eric Bogle, Chris Duncan and Catherine Strutt, Danny Spooner, Vivien Hamilton, Fiona Ross and Band, Tolka, Taliska and the Melbourne Scottish Fiddle Club.

The festival was born out of the Corangamite and Camperdown communities, following the restoration of the Robert Burns statue in the Camperdown Botanic Gardens. Camperdown – May 20-22.
