Regional Vic’s Vinyl King Prehistoric Sounds celebrates 13 years in business with an epic sale

Much loved provider of old and new vinyl goodies, Prehistoric Sounds, celebrates 13 years of championing wax.

Prehistoric Sounds has long been an adored Victorian destination for music adventure – a place known for housing all the best local records from past and present, while also offering a consummate selection of international releases, reissues and second-hand wax.

The main focus though is on providing records from some of Australia’s best up-and-comers with a regular list of new arrivals, detailing what they reckon people should check out.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Formally known humble record store Sweet Little Hi-Fi, owner Shane Godfrey started out slingin’ a small selection of preloved records online and in an antique market in Warrnambool, before eventually expanding to the Mill Markets and Geelong and getting among some record fairs around south-eastern Australia.

After being one of the only spots providing records and record-related products, they slowly expanded to the heavily populated Kepler St in Warrnambool in April 2019, just in time for RSD that year, which bode well for their business.

These days Prehistoric Sounds has suppliers in Australia, Europe, US and Japan, and if you want something they don’t carry they’ll try and find it.

Now, Prehistoric Sounds is celebrating its 13th birthday and for well over a decade now they’ve been sourcing new and vintage records, from huge artists to niche acts.

To celebrate such a monumental milestone and entry into the difficult teenage years, Prehistoric Sounds are hosting a sale for all their loyal and future customers.

Running today and tomorrow, Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1, you can score 13% off – store wide! The offer is available in store in Warrnambool, while Geelong and surrounds customers can get in on the fun online by using the code ‘LUCKY13’ at checkout.

The only exception to the sale is titles that have been specially ordered for customers, otherwise it’s there for the taking.

We love a sale, especially when it comes to also supporting local business. Thanks for thirteen years of groovy wax and counting, happy birthday.
