Reggae vibes take over Geelong with the return of Reggae Fest this weekend.
Filled with Caribbean vibes, pulsating reggae beats, and mouth-watering Jamaican flavours, the Reggae Fest returns for its second year this weekend. Created by Damian Rosevelt, the mastermind behind the beloved Jamaican brand Taste Jamaica, the festival promises a day-long immersive experience celebrating the ‘vybz of the Caribbean.’
Taking place this Saturday, November 18, from 12 pm until 8:30 pm, Reggae Fest is set to transform Geelong’s Johnstone Park into a vibrant celebration of Jamaican music, dance, food, and culture. After a highly successful debut last year, Rosevelt is back to curate another sensational event that transports attendees to the picturesque landscapes of Jamaica.

Reggae Fest is not just a festival; it’s a movement born out of a conversation among friends passionate about Caribbean culture (alongside a few Bob Marley shots). As the festival statement explains, “Reggae Fest aims to promote and share Caribbean Culture in Australia through events that promote love, peace, hope, and happiness.”
The festival promises an exciting lineup of both local and international Reggae artists, all hosted by the charismatic Jermaine Clarke. Headlining the musical extravaganza is Quino Big Mountain, supported by Flames Eye, King Ru’, Ras Jahknow Band, Crown Heights, Marapu, Out N Bad Dance Studios, Soul Sister Swing, and Mpress Kandace.
Reggae Fest is a family-friendly event, welcoming children of all ages, with kids aged 12 and under free.
The festival promises not only fantastic music but also an array of food trucks, drinks, market stalls, and entertainment options. Activities for children include free face painting, Jamaican dance and groove sessions, and performances by Dazzling Dan the Magician.
Don’t miss out on the chilli and Jamaican Bulla eating competitions, a beer-drinking contest, and other surprises that will make Reggae Fest an unforgettable experience for all.
Pack a picnic rug or a deck chair, and head on down to Johnstone Park in Geelong on Saturday, 18 November.
