Prepare for a night of alt-rock nostalgia, Spiderbait, Jebediah and Bodyjar are hitting Victoria next month

The bands have all signed on for Summer Sounds in Melbourne.

Going down as part of Live at the Bowl, Australian royalty Spiderbait, Jebediah and Bodyjar have just joined the lineup for Summer Sounds, a new music festival that hits Melbourne in late February and early March.

A festival with your COVID safety in mind, Summer Sounds will see punters revelling in their own private booths, with tickets coming in three different categories – private decks, stall table and balcony seats.

The key takeaways

  • Melbourne’s Summer Sounds Music Fesival has expanded their lineup
  • The new show will see Spiderbait, Jebediah and Bodyjar take over Sidney Myer Music Bowl
  • Tickets can be purchased in groups of two, four or six in three different categories – private decks, stall table and balcony seats.

Already the festival has announced the likes of Ball Park Music, Thelma Plum, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Tropical Fuck Storm, Powderfinger legend Bernard Fanning, Something For Kate, Spacey Jane and RAT!hammock, and now they’ve just added a few more legendary names to that bill of the five-date festival.

With the countdown to the Melbourne edition of Summer Sounds Festival well and truly underway, the event has just announced a bunch of exciting additions to its already massive lineup.

Promising a huge night of alt-rock nostalgia, Aussie icons Spiderbait, Jebediah and Bodyjar have been added to the festival bill for a new date on Friday, March 5 at Sidney Music Myer Bowl. If their show at Summer Sounds Adelaide is anything to go by, this is going to be one heaving night of rock!

Alongside the whole new evening, the team at Summer Sounds have also added a bunch of supports to the previous dates, including Geelong local Alice Ivy, Melbourne locals Smarts, Warrnambool’s Didirri and critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Carla Geneve.

As part of the three ticket categories, festival-goers will be able to sit in groups of two, four or six.

Presale tickets for the newly announced show are available from Thu 11 Feb 9am AEDT. General onsale begins Fri 12 Feb 9am AEDT.
