Plate Up Ballarat is hosting a 20 day pasta challenge

Happiness in a bowl.

There are just situations in life where only a bowl of carbs will do, and in times like these, there’s a special type of comfort in a plate of Nonna-worthy pasta.

With regional Victoria in the midst of our second lockdown, Plate Up Ballarat has created the ‘Ballarat Pasta Challenge’, an initiative that aims to help support local businesses as they navigate the next few weeks.

Running from today until August 30, locals are encouraged to indulge in some, or all, of the specially created pasta dishes from 22 different local businesses.

You’ll find everything from Braised Brisket Gnocchi from Hop Temple Ballarat; Rustic Italian Meatballs from Brown Hill Hotel; Lamb Pappardelle from Oscars Hotel & Cafe Bar and Linguine with Mussels from Boatshed Restaurant; to more exotic options like Squid Ink Pasta from Ragazzone; Spinach Fettucine with Quattro Formaggi & Truffle Sauce from Lola Ballarat and a Chicken Parma Ravioli from The North Ballarat Sports Club, among many others.

Next time you’ve got pasta on your mind, support local and let one of these restaurants sort you out with a big bowl of takeaway, carby goodness.

You can find the list of participating eateries here.
