Discrimination and injustice are major causes of poverty worldwide, and women and girls bear the brunt of it in all aspects of their lives. Globally, women represent 70% of people living in poverty; they make up two-thirds of the world’s workforce, yet only earn 10% of total income; and one in three women have experienced physical or sexual abuse in their lifetime.
Together we can change this. Our gender equality programs help women all over the world to strive towards equal rights in their homes and communities. Your commitment to Global Impact will ensure our gender equality work is effective and creates positive long-term change for communities. Below are examples of programs you will be supporting when you join the many Australians committed to advancing gender equality.
