Fresh from a month-long DJ residency at Mount Buller over winter, Melbourne-based music producer and DJ Phoenix Manson returns to the airwaves with a rich cinematic, bloom-filled installment of ‘Natural Selections’ to welcome in summer.
Launching early in 2022, ‘Natural Selections’ is a groundbreaking, imagery-rich YouTube series that explores different natural environments and wildlife through Manson’s signature style of house music. Inspired by a range of influences that were having a meaningful impact on people’s lives during the pandemic, Manson aimed to provide a meaningful musical experience in a covid-world by pairing tasteful house music with the therapeutic qualities of nature documentaries to create the perfect backdrop for work, study and relaxation.
Since the first installment of Natural Selections launched with an epic set at the Waterfall of Goonengerry National Park, the series has seen Manson continues to perform in some of Australia’s most iconic national parks, including Wilson’s Promontory, Great Otway National Park, and most recently, at the Mount Buller summit of Alpine National Park.
Spanning deep house, funk, jazzy house and lo-fi house mixes, the series has been viewed by over a quarter million people from around the world.

With the summer heat waves slowly picking up, it’s time to seek relief in the form of Manson’s new disco house ode to the warm months, with his fifth installment set within a local spot that perhaps evokes that season the best.
Bringing the summer vibes to the Natural Selections series, Manson takes viewers on a daytrip to the vibrant and beautiful canola fields that surround Geelong.
Consumed by the endless sea of tall yellow flowers in the You Yangs National Park, he delivers a curated Disco House mix that features tracks from the likes of Daft Punk, Michael Gray and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

Building on the success of the Natural Selections concept, Manson will be launching the first Natural Selections Sessions on Friday, December 9. The event will be taking place at the rooftop of club One Six One on Chapel St.
