Themed ‘Make It Home’, PBS 106.7FM has announced the return of its annual Radio Festival from Monday May 17 until Sunday May 30, asking listeners to become a member to help them move to their brand-new digs in Melbourne.

Just a hop, skip and a jump from the station’s current location for the past 20 years on Easey Street, PBS will join a plethora of Melbourne businesses and organisations at Johnston Street’s new creative hub, Collingwood Yards.
As we all know, moving sucks, and there are a multitude of elements that must come together to get the job done – especially in a post-COVID time where like many in the music industry, PBS is having to work extra hard to make up for lost ground.
For the duration of the festival, supporters can join up to the non-profit community organisation and become a PBS member and assist PBS to help finish their new home and not only rebuild the station but make it home, so they can continue championing and broadcasting under-represented music for years to come.
As a completely independent community radio station, PBS relies on listener support to keep the tunes glowing, the conversation growing and the airwaves flowing each and every year.
“It feels like PBS has been talking about a new home forever and now the time has finally come. It’s going to be amazing but it’s also expensive, particularly with the challenges we’ve had keeping the music on air during COVID,” PBS General Manager Adrian Basso said in a statement.
“We’re really hoping people who love the station will support us through this time by becoming a member and, if they can, making a donation towards the move to help us Make it Home.”
As always, there will be a huge bag of prizes and surprises in store for anyone that jumps on board and even though the festival will kick off on Monday May 17, all members who sign up from now will go into the draw.
Alongside a swag of daily prizes including local record store vouchers, festival tickets and merch packs, the list of 2021 major prizes include a Vespa courtesy of Vespa Australia & Peter Stevens Motorcycles, a handmade electric guitar and road case from Clingan Guitar Tone in Collingwood, a Clearaudio Concept turntable as well as other things such as an entire year’s worth of PBS feature albums and a new Avanti road bike from My Ride Collingwood.
