Melbourne’s Kaiju! just released two colossal seasonal craft beers to sip this winter

The Heavyweights of Beer Title Fight returns.

After last year’s simultaneous return of beer heavyweights, ‘Where Strides the Behemoth’ and ‘Betelgeuse’, led to the very first KAIJU! Heavyweights of Beer Title Fight, it was inevitable that a rematch would ensue.

Releasing these two beers at the same time, and encouraging beer lovers to try them against each other, was a unique way to bring back two KAIJU! favourites after a long absence, which was well-received by beer lovers.

With the release of these bigger beers arriving perfectly in the winter this year on July 1, it looks like the Heavyweights of Beer Title Fight might become an annual release, which would be a welcome addition to any beer calendar.

So what should you expect?

KAIJU!’s Where Strides the Behemoth Double India Black Ale is probably Australia’s hoppiest beer, with 30 grams added per litre produced, the huge, roast, chocolate, coffee and malty intensity still assert themselves alongside the huge, dank hop character in this truly extraordinary drink.

With rummy notes, 10.5% ABV and made with Chinook, Columbus, Amarillo (US), and Simcoe (US) hops, this beer provides full palate saturation and an unforgettable experience.

The palate is fully saturated with flavour intensity that can’t be adequately described, only experienced.

Next, is KAIJU’s Cosmos disrupting Betelgeuse Double Red Ale.

Hopped Out Red’s big brother presents much like a hoppy American barleywine. Heady malt character and firm hop bitterness, this one lingers for minutes on the palate.

With Pale, Medium Crystal, Dark Crystal and Melanoidin malts, and Columbus, Chinook, Cascade, Cryo Mosaic (US), and Nelson Sauvin (NZ) hops, expect an enormous and delicious beer.

Find these beer heavyweights at your local bottle shop from July 1 or head to the KAIJU! website for stockists.
