The Torquay pub is not slowing down when it comes to delivering live music for Geelong and the Surf Coast, and with stunner acts being added like Client Liaison and Boy & Bear, you’re going to need a pretty large calendar to keep track of them all.
We’ve all long known the Torquay Hotel to be the home of live music, where artists perform their breakthrough gigs, or where well-known bands bring their energy to the Surf Coast. Regardless of status, the pub has always been an iconic destination for gigs; and they continue to deliver these after announcing two acts in December, and another eleven in 2022.

Just imagine the thumping beat of the kickdrum vibrating your heart, the metallic twang of the guitarists’ fingers sliding across the fretboard, the bass guitar’s rhythm hypnotising your feet to waddle on the spot, and the vocalist serenading your core. Straight up, we have funky disco duo Client Liaison. Announced only yesterday, ‘A Night of Divine Intervention’ is set to celebrate their highly-anticipated album release, and to “take listeners on a musical journey,” they describe. You can expect to be up and grooving to bops like ‘Strictly Business’ or the stellar ‘House of Holy’ Friday, December 3, with tickets available now.
Seth Sentry will be kicking off his nine-show tour of Australia at the Torquay pub, exhibiting songs from his album released in June. The show is destined to be strangely thrilling, particularly if you have the knowledge that Seth live-streamed his life for ten days straight earlier this year, offering fans a deep, perhaps TMI, insight into his daily life. One of Australia’s fastest up-and-coming songwriters Jack Botts will roll in for the new year and perform the Sunset Beer Garden Session. An expert at performing COVID-safe shows after touring back in 2020, the electric energy of his gigs are going to liberate the live music scene of 2022. Get your groovy gear on, because 70s inspired pop-folk group Boy & Bear are set to jam their way into the Surf Coast, and it will for sure be unmissable. Marking the start of their Australian tour, lead singer Dave Hosking is sure to push listeners into a serene trance. Performing Sunday, January 8, tickets are being snatched up fast.
Without needing much of an intro because of how iconic they are to the Australian music scene, The Rubens rescheduled tour is a near-sold out event. An added second show at the Torquay Hotel were necessary to meet the demands of fans, where the ‘0202’ album is set to rock through the venue. The Torquay pub is smack-bang in the middle of Hollow Coves local gig list of 2022, where they will bring their indie-folk vibe to the coast. With the tranquil guitar intro of ‘Blessings’ and the invitingly reminiscent lyrics of ‘Purple’ set to entertain, fans can enjoy Hollow Coves on a sunny Sunday, February 13.
Described to be “the demon groove kings”, Mildlife is set to deliver a variety of “floor-movers” and electronic earthshakers. Their dimensional, jazz-infused vibe is set to get you up and going Friday, February 18, with room for your dancing shoes still available here.
There are available tickets awaiting your purchase for Bliss N Eso’s second show in Torquay, where their highly-demanded tour will see them briefly stop for a few shows in Victoria, before taking their beats interstate. Their gig is set to celebrate their recent album release on Friday, February 25, and with tickets available for Sunday, February 27.
The Vanns will be the next artist to bring their take on modern Australian rock & roll to Torquay. The Vanns have previously been a “main stage staple” at festivals and after beginning a sold-out trip of Queensland and Western Australia earlier this year, they will bring their good vibes to us Sunday, March 6. The gigs of March will wind up with surf-rock band Hockey Dad. With their name known to the triple J Hottest 100 and ARIA album chart, Hockey Dad will stun the pub Saturday, March 12. Whilst the show is sold out, you can sign up for the waiting list here.
From April onwards, the Torquay Hotel is set to deliver other artists such as Trophy Eyes, DZ Deathrays, Polish Club, Holy Holy, and are sure to announce an abundance of other artists. The pub is throwing these awesome gigs at us left, right, and centre, invigorating and enlivening the live music scene of Geelong and the Surf Coast once more.
