Kiwanis 2016 All Ford Day

More than 1,200 Fords from more than 36 car clubs will converge on Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus on Sunday February, 21 for the 2016 Kiwanis All Ford Day.

Gates open to the public at 9am for the 25th anniversary of the biggest collection of Fords anywhere in Australia.

This year features the first public appearance of the new Ford Sprint. A special pre-’60s vintage theme, with the feature clubs being the 49-59 Customline Car Club of Vic, The RS Owners Club of Victoria and the FPV & XR Car Club of SA, along with many custom Fords, a display by the Geelong Museum of Motoring.and Geelong Street Rodders.

Making its first appearance at the show is a FPV GT-F. that was featured in the Unique Car Magazine.  The vehicle was driven by legendary drivers Dick Johnson and John Bowe in the Northern Territory in an attempt to crack the 300km/h barrier.

There are some special guests making the trip including the current Dunlop Series champion – Prodrive Racing’s Cameron Waters and former racing car drivers John Bowe and Fred Gibson along with ‘Fletch’ from Classic Restos.

Share the excitement when the event starts the alcohol-fuelled Drag Car from Aikman Engineering throughout the day.

There will also be special entertainment for children including Dan the Magician, free face painting, amusements, rides and a jumping castle.
