Juliette Seizure & the Tremor-Dolls: Self-titled EP

Sit back, put your feet up and hit play, as Juliette Seizure & the Tremor Dolls EP will blow your socks off. It starts rough, loud, and gives the impression that the band are strumming away in your lounge room. There’s a real live essence to this release, and that comes through with the slightly raw vocals and organic sound that comes through from the instrumental.

It’s the kind of old school female-fronted rock that way big around the ’90s, and it’s clearly making a come back, at least with these guys. This isn’t an EP you’d put on if you wanted a quiet night in – it’s the perfect thing to be the soundtrack to your world as you give a massive f*ck you to society. The songs are quick, the instruments fast-paced and the lyrics/vocals and churned out in a drawling, aggressive manner. The guitar solo in ‘Can’t Take It’ is a highlight, and serves as a nice break for those who need. The blend of cheesy cute and grunge rock in ‘Do Your Duty’ is an interesting one, and I think it may take a few listens to grow on you. Put this one on for something a bit different and full of angst.
