Julia Jacklin will headline 'OK Charlton' this February alongside an already stacked lineup.

OK Motels, who alongside being one of our favourite-ever Instagram accounts documenting rural motels from around Australia, returns to rural Victoria this February and today, they’ve just announced their secret headliner – the indie-pop darling Julia Jacklin.

Joining the likes of CIVIC, Party Dozen, Frente, Eaten By Dogs, Ali, ENOLA and more, she will be appearing at the festival in Charlton from February 17 – 19.

Embracing a nostalgic fixation with ’70s-style accommodation and sheer love of supporting live Australian music, Ok Motels pulls together some of the best Melbourne bands and brings them to retro motels around the state where people were encouraged to party like it’s 1970. Originally home to netball presentations nights and deb balls, the Charlton Motel will come alive once again with this forthcoming lineup, all be hitting the venue for the very first time.

While the lineup may be brand spanking new, some of OK’s favourite features make a return; Tell Your Friends You Love Them, the CWA, Kaylene behind the bar, Greg and Leanne at the East Charlton Hotel, Benno and Carmel at The Vale, Lloyd and Maureen at OK Camp, and the long list of local legends who make the weekend what it is.

There’ll be the pool party again on the Saturday with Tell Your Friends You Love Them spinning Love Songs and Dedications for your most loved friends. The Rex cinema will be selling their yummo homemade Choc Tops, and across the park, the CWA will be serving Devo Tea with barefoot bowls.

The ‘Dinner and a Show’ meals will be cooked by the Charlton College Food Tech kids, with music by Blend ft. ‘The Weed’ on keys (once the local Mayor). And just before the bands hit the stage, guests will be treated to an amazing Dja Dja Wurrung Welcome to Country Music and Dance Celebration.
