Bellarine Estate is quickly becoming one of the best places to waste away your sunny afternoons, especially with the addition of live music on Sunday afternoons. Joe Camilleri & the Black Sorrows is one of the Sunday gigs to look forward to, and will take place at the winery and brewery on Valentine’s Day.
“You can enjoy a nice romantic picnic on the lawn with a bottle of our fantastic Portarlington Ridge Sparkling or surprise them with VIP tickets where you will both be spoiled rotten on the day, with lots of great food, wine and beer, and the best seats in the house to experience a great day of exceptional music. That’s what memories are made of,” Managing Director Peter Kenny says.
And while the event may be held on Valentine’s Day, that doesn’t mean it’s an event exclusive for romantic outings. The whole family is welcome, so that means that kids can be looked after with entertainment at the estate while you cosy up with your significant other and a glass of Phil’s Fetish Pinot Noir – one of Peter’s favourites.
“We want to create a relaxed vibe where people feel welcome and comfortable,” Peter says.
“Bring the whole family: mum, dad, the kids and the grandparents. Bring a blanket or chairs and hang out on the lawns with a picnic or food from the food vans while enjoying top class music all day. Parent’s can relax while their kids are entertained in our kid’s area.”
With top quality wine, beer and cider available at the estate and produced in house, there will also be a variety of food stalls catering to your every craving during the day. Rollin Tacos, Hexham Burgers, Burn City Smokers, Flying Calamari Brothers, Gourmet Delights Cannolis, Timboon Ice Cream and Ground Zero Coffee will all be set up at the estate, and if you fancy being waited on hand and foot, then grab yourself a VIP ticket to have the full experience. It is Valentine’s Day after all, you deserve it.
What makes attending the gig even sweeter, is the knowledge that with each ticket purchased you’ll be helping out a local charity, educating and empowering youth in the region.
“Ten02 is a charity that provides funds for youth services and programs on the Bellarine Peninsula. It is a Christian, faith based charity which supports and encourages local youth to work alongside adults in the community,” Peter says.
“It exists to equip, empower and educate local youth, , give them vital life skills including job readiness and employability. Ten02 is a major supporter of the Faith Kitchen program that we run here at Bellarine Estate that aims to give young people from the local secondary college hospitality and restaurant management skills, teach them about food production and sustainability and “giving back” through community service at local events. You will see some of these kids in action on the day. The long term goal of Ten02 is to raise enough money to be able to provide grants to support as many local youth based programs as possible.”
So if you’re after an incredible performance from Joe Camilleri & the Black Sorrows with some quality food and drink, then be sure to swing by the Bellarine Estate this Valentine’s Day – kids optional.
