As one half of indie giants The xx, Jamie xx built walls of sound that shaped the scene, but in his solo project he has torn the walls down and extended his arms into varying sleeves. He lent a hand to Drake, Radiohead, Rihanna and more recently Robyn, Erykah and The Avalanches on track ‘All You Children’ as part of his latest drop In Waves. Jamie xx is an undeniable presence live with his set bound to light up the amphitheatre in a magical way.
Katie Crutchfield has pulled at our heartstrings for a decade under her indie project Waxahatchee, daring to deliver songbooks of soulmelting moments. Her latest release Tigers Blood has us eating from her palm yet again with its Americana licks and tings, unable to break the binds that she weaves.
Kofi Owusu-Ansah was meant for the big-time and his moniker music megatron Genesis Owusu is out of this world on the hype scale. Returning to the Sup’, Genesis is armed with his infectious, floor-busting combustions SMILING WITH NO TEETH and STRUGGLER, albums that earnt him serious acclaim and produced absolute heartstoppers ‘What Comes Will Come’ and ‘Leaving The Light’. Partnered with high-level choreography and bold costumes in the live setting, Genesis’s set will get you inspired.
Shooting in from the states is The Dare. Best known for his single ‘Girls’, The Dare has captured the indie sleaze-scape of New York City.
Glass Beams are a highly anticipated live return to Australia. Enigma’s as mask-wearing mysteries, the three-piece has captivated across their bodies of work Mirage, Rattlesnake and their latest and greatest Mahal.
Angie McMahon is a comfort inclusion to the Mereith Thirty Two lineup for all Australians. Her beautiful blend of songwriting and serenading soar. ‘Letting Go’ and ‘Slow Mover’ still have us in a chokehold all of these years later.
Finally ZAPP are a zanny inclusion, as the robo funk family from Ohio take to the celebration. Their custom-made talk-box, the Electro-Harmonix ‘Golden Throat’ brands them with a uniqueness that is a must-see to be believe.
In additiont he festival will see Mk.gee, Mannequin Pussy, BARKAA, Fat White Family, Leo Sayer, Essendon Airport, Party Dozen, Princess Superstar, Olof Dreijer, MIKE, Good Morning, Frenzee, Mainline Magic Orchestra, DJ PGZ, Precious Bloom, The Central Australian Aboriginal Women’s Choir, Ayebatonye, Keanu Nelson, In2stellar, YARA, Billiam & The Split Bills and City Of Ballarat Municipal Brass Band join the Meredith madness!
The Sup’ is truly being supercharged this year and we cannot wait!
