The Ceres-raised singer, who shot to fame in 2013 when he was the runner-up on the X Factor and now has two #1 ARIA albums to his name, had only just begun taking his ‘The A-Team tour’ back on the road in March last year, gearing up for what was to be his busiest year yet.
Only four shows into the tour, coronavirus began derailing the touring industry, resulting in the postponement of all his remaining tour dates.
Keeping busy with a slew of live streams throughout the year and the release of some festive new tunes, Taylor has entered 2021 with a belly full of fire, announcing his rescheduled tour for April and uniting with one of our favourite local businesses, Piano Bar.
With a helping hand from Wyndham City, Geelong’s famed Piano Bar is hitting the road this week, hosting a pop-up for two weeks at the idyllic Wyndham Cultural Centre in Werribee – it’s Piano Bar Shipped. Running from Thursday, January 28 through to Sunday, February 14, the pop-up marks Piano Bar’s first voyage to Werribee as part of the West End Experience, bringing along the unparalleled atmosphere and entertainment that only Geelong’s piano bar delivers.
Armed with a renovated shipping container and a sizable marquee, you can expect to see all the things we love about our nights at Piano Bar – the dance floor, the drinks, drags, magicians, vocalists, piano performances, and a number of special guest artists over the next two weeks.
While all the fun kicks off on Thursday, we’ve got Sunday marked in our calendars when Taylor is set to deliver what promises to be a powerful and emotive performance.
Taking to the stage under the Piano Bar Marquee, the intimate performance will feature some of Taylor’s award-winning hits from his platinum-selling albums Self-Titled and Burnt Letters, alongside some brand-new tracks that he’s been working on over the year.
If there’s one thing fans can count on, it’s that both Taylor and the Piano Bar crew won’t be straying too far from who people have come to know them both as – and that’s exactly why we’re going to be spending our Sunday afternoon here.
It all goes down on Sunday, January 31 from 3pm to 5pm. Drinks are at bar prices and there will be an option to order food from local eateries on the day. All bookings will be allocated a table based on the number of tickets that you have purchased.
