Iconic outdoor movies Sunset Cinema returns to two Victorian spots this summer

The iconic outdoor cinema is set to reopen this December for a season of unmissable cinematic experiences! 

Celebrating 10 years of movie magic, the Sunset Cinema is launching its must-visit summertime outdoor cinema in two Victorian locations, including the stunning setting of The Briars, Mount Martha and soon to be revealed location in St Kilda.

Arriving on December 21 2022 and running through to January 20 2023, movie lovers will be able to watch the sun as it sets over the Mornington Peninsula horizon as the stars begin to twinkle overhead and feel the buzz of excitement while you settle in, ready for the movie to begin.

A key fixture of the Australian summer events programming for the last decade, Sunset Cinema will be bringing their signature mix of new release blockbusters, all-time classics and family favourites from under starry summer skies, with even more screening nights, delicious F&B options, and good times! 

Screening weekly, Thursday to Saturday, movie lovers can bask in the warm evenings enjoying some of their favourite films. From well-loved classics like Dirty Dancing and The Princess Bride to hot new releases Don’t Worry Darling and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, plus a bunch of Christmas favourites like Love Actually and Elf – there’s a movie to suit everyone! 

Sunset Cinema’s well-stocked bar will be serving up refreshing beverages thanks to Oxford Landing Wines, Manly Spirits, and BentSpoke Brewing Co. 

Featuring ridiculously comfortable bean lounges, bean bags and space for a full picnic spread, Sunset Cinema has got your cravings covered with movie must-haves available at the on-site snack bar, serving Freshly popped popcorn, Bulla Murray St Choc Tops,  Savoury snacks including 180 Degrees crackers and 180 Degrees cheese boxes (available for pre-order through the website) 

You’ll also be able to get some delicious hot food from Melbourne food truck Meshousheh Gourmet Hummus, tucking into their mouth-watering falafel bowls, hot pita pockets and addictive hummus, ensuring you feel perfectly satisfied before snuggling down for the movie. 

If that wasn’t enough, guests can experience the ultimate indulgent VIP treatment thanks to the Tim Tam Lounge. Treat yourself to premium seating, kicking back on luxe lounges, being waited on hand and foot by the lounge genie, munching on bottomless popcorn, and savour an indulgent Tim Tam treat! What more could you wish for? 

Tickets are sold online with adult tickets just $15. Need to treat yourself? Upgrade to the VIP experience at the Tim Tam lounge for an additional $25. Looking for the perfect family activity? Kids tickets are only $10 with children under 3 years free. If you need a sign it’s time to plan a night out with your mates, you can get $16 groupies tickets if you book for 5 people or more!
