Humans in Geelong are calling all local musicians for help with their next project

Words by Keegan Bennett

An amazing opportunity for anyone looking to share their music with the world.

Local not-for-profit Humans of Geelong are putting the call out to all local musicians to create a soundtrack for their next community project.

The competition is running from now until the 5th of February 2021 and is calling for an original song roughly 3.20 minutes long and have a similar beat to ‘I’ll Make You Happy’ by The Divinyls.

Humans of Geelong say that the aim of this project is to showcase our beautiful region as well as strengthening community relationships and to have a bit of fun whilst they are at it.

The competition is offering a first-place prize of $500, with the song to be featured in the video the team is producing. Of course, with that also comes the exposure of having your song played across Humans of Geelong’s social media channels. A second-place prize of $200 is also on offer.

The finished video will be launched on the 23rd of March 2021 at The Dome, Geelong Library at 7.30pm, bookings are essential, and more details will be provided closer to the date.

If you are interested in competing for a chance to be featured in the video, contact Humans in Geelong on their Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.
