It's a very Merry Brickmas!

In a festive flourish, IHG’s Holiday Inn and Suites Geelong has elevated its holiday decor game with the introduction of a colossal 4.5-metre Lego Christmas tree proudly displayed in its lobby space.

Constructed by Lego Certified Professional Ryan McNaught, affectionately known as ‘Brickman,’ and his skilled team of eight experts, this yuletide masterpiece boasts an impressive 85,657 Lego pieces and weighs a whopping 500 kilograms. The meticulous engineering process unfolded over 19 days, a testament to the dedication that went into this creative marvel, clocking in at 467 hours.

The tree itself is a visual feast, adorned with a delightful assortment of Lego decorations, including whimsical gingerbread men, delicate snowdrops, and vibrant candy canes. Nestled beneath are beautifully wrapped presents, completing the enchanting scene—a perfect backdrop for capturing those cherished festive moments with friends and family.

Dean Jones, Vice President Commercial, Japan, Australasia, Pacific, IHG Hotels & Resorts, notes the synergy between Holiday Inn and Lego, two globally recognisable brands that consistently contribute to building memories through connectivity and creative possibilities. He expresses excitement at bringing additional joy to guests at one of the newest Holiday Inn destinations.

In tandem with this festive extravaganza, Holiday Inn hotels across Australia and New Zealand are spreading the seasonal cheer. Families checking in between Christmas and New Year will receive complimentary Lego kits while stocks last. This initiative aims to foster genuine connections and delight guests during the holiday season.

This Christmas tree activation aligns seamlessly with Holiday Inn’s global promise to make travel memorable. Moreover, its presence in Geelong showcases the brand’s evolution journey, highlighting modern new-look spaces such as the recently introduced ‘Open Lobby’ concept. This innovative approach combines all public spaces, creating a cohesive environment for socialising and unwinding.
