Treat yourself to some tunes.

So it’s Christmas time, and in between stuffing your face with cold meets and unwrapping presents, it’s time you headed out and listened to some sweet local music. After all, there’s only so many times you can listen to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas’.

Festy-oke at Beavs Bar

Wouldn’t be a Christmas in Geelong without a trip to Beavs for some karaoke now would it?

That charming venue behind the big red door has been a favourite hangout for years now, and has become the go-to place to listen to some acoustic original singer-songwriters, chill out on the lounge having a drink with your mates or partake in a cheeky few rounds of karaoke on a Wednesday night.

Keeping up with traditions, the bar will be hosting ‘Festy-oke’ on Wednesday 23rd from 8:30pm, thanks to the legends at Cruisin’ Croonin’ Entertainment. Known for their Karaoke shows, disco’s, Open Mic Nights and more, you’re guaranteed a great night out with this one.

Christmas Eve Arvo at Teesdale’s Elder Bar and Eats

Popping up in Teesdale only in recent weeks, Elderbar and Eats is a new licensed pop-up restaurant and bar has been created from modified shipping containers, providing guests with a relaxed and funky space where they can enjoy the company of friends and family whilst savouring the spoils of the local wine and produce, all to the sweet sounds of live acoustics.

With the venue in full swing, they’ve now just given locals something to look forward to with their Christmas eve celebrations. They’ll have live tunes from the dynamic four piece Pl@n B from 2pm to 5pm, alongside a fully stocked bar and delicious eats ready for the taking. If you’re looking for something chill to ease into Xmas with, this is it.

Xmas Eve at Captain

Thanks to the great people at Captain, you’ll be able to welcome Christmas with a classic Xmas eve sesh at the lovable small bar with a big reputation. Held at the outdoor space that is Captain, your Thursday afternoon will be met with an urban oasis of lush garden and natural wood, with drinks served out of a retro caravan and a local live music from Dhunt– and best of all, entry is free.

There will be two extra-long sittings for this event, with 6pm-9pm and the second at 9:30pm-1am. Bookings can be made here.

Xmas Eve Party at the Belmont Hotel

An institution in Geelong with one of the best rooftops’s going round, The Belmont Hotel will be a prime spot for those Chrissy eve celebrations. Kicking off celebrations from 4pm, this rooftop party will see Geelong’s iconic DJ duo Chook & Moluck on the tunes until late.

It’s free entry, crazy christmas kits are encouraged and hangovers on Christmas morning are non negotiable.

Adults Only Christmas Eve at Piano Bar

Piano Bar has long being known as Geelong’s home of singalongs, friendship, inclusiveness and fun times, and now that their Malop Street venue is back up and running, so too are the wild events.

Welcoming Christmas the right way, the team are back with their annual adults-only Christmas Eve party – sounds intriguing right!? Hosted by the fabulous Jemima Handful, this special event includes performances by Jemima, one of our fabulous piano men taking all your song requests and some very special festive guests.

Macy Rose at Volta

Opening in February following major renovations, Volta is Ballarat’s answer to sustainable arts and culture, and they’ll be seeing out the year with a special gig ahead of Christmas with Macy Rose and supports on Wednesday, December 23 from 6:30pm.

Fronted by Macy Rose, a local 17-year-old solo singer and songwriter, the band is driven by emotional and storytelling influences. They have always been heavily involved in music, with performances in China and around the Pacific Islands. They celebrated their first ever original release in February 2019 with Nostalgic, and this show is in support of their debut EP.

Boxing Night ft. Jordan Brando at Bloom

We know Christmas is all about coming together and celebrating with the ones you love. But once you’ve had your fill of turkey, stuffing, presents and family, there’s one thing most of us want to do… get out and really celebrate Christmas on Boxing Day.

With Bloom back on track with a dance floor ready to go, this will be the place to be on Saturday to help you kick 2020 to the curb with hours of entertainment from legend and superstar Jordan Brando.

From 8pm until 11pm, Elysian Fields will be front and centre with premier cocktails, lounge tunes and casual energy to start off your night, and then once 11pm hits, that’s when the party begins. The dance floor will open, and the venue transforms into the house music haven that we’ve all grown to know and love – but better, fresher and more fun! Oh and the best part, this one’s all free.

Christmas Eve Party at Piano Bar Colac

For those out in west, Piano Bar in Colac is the place to be for all your pre-xmas gig needs with entertainment from one of their fabulous piano men and superstar vocalists.

Seated tickets are $10 and standing tickets are $10 online or $15 on the door, and you must arrive by to 9:30pm to retain your ticket or it may be resold to our waiting list – you’ve been warned!

Decades In Dance Party at The Inn

Consider your Boxing Day celebrations sorted with the Decades In Dance party at The Inn. Kicking off from 12pm, the kitchen will be firing, the big screens are showing the Boxing Day match, there’s acoustic during the day thanks to Abe Anderson and when it hits 7pm their resident DJs, Mitch and Daniel, will take ya’ll on a journey through the best hits of the decades!

This event is free, and they’ll be taking bookings up to 9pm, with walk-ins only after 9pm.
