Grapevine Gathering announce new summer festival dates for January 2022

The wine and music festival will now take place in January and will continue to run across three consecutive weekends in WA, NSW and Victoria.

Grapevine Gathering has become the latest victim to the recent COVID outbreak, with festival organisers postponing the highly anticipated event until January 2022.

Brought to music lovers thanks to the Untitled Group (the same organisers of Festival Beyond the Valley, Ability Fest, For The Love, Pitch Music & Arts, Wildlands, and more), Grapevine Gathering will continue to offer up a myriad of the ripest local talent as it takes to three of the best wine regions around Australia next year, giving music lovers something to look forward to in the Summer.

The key takeaways

  • Grapevine Gathering announces new festival dates for 2022
  • The event – due to take place in October – has been rescheduled because of the ongoing lockdowns
  • The line-up will remain exactly the same for the new dates

The festival – which sold out within minutes earlier this year – announced last week the decision to postpone the original October dates due to ongoing lockdowns in VIC & NSW as well as facing the roadblock that many of the artists on the lineup are unable to travel outside of their states due to border closures.

The lineup for the new dates will remain exactly the same including party-starters Peking Duk, The Jungle Giants, Vera Blue, The Veronicas, San Cisco, CC:Disco!, King Stingray and Rest For The Wicked, with even more to be announced.

“We know everything feels pretty doom and gloom at the moment but we’re feeling positive Australia is going to be in a much better position by January and these new summer dates can give us all something to look forward to,” festival organisers said in a statement.

Alongside the juicy lineup, ex-tradies turned Instagram celebrities ‘The Uninspired Unemployed’ will be hosting Grapevine Gathering and performing changeover DJ sets around the country. The duo started their Instagram account during COVID out of boredom sharing hilarious skits and videos. They now have almost a million followers, have quit their day jobs as tradies, and have collaborated with the likes of Vogue, GQ and Louis Vuitton. 100% worth a look if you’re not all over it.

If that’s not a good enough Riesling to head along (oh yes we did), the festival will also host a huge selection of wine, craft beer, cocktails and an array of eats including woodfired pizzas, gourmet burgers, and smoked treats from their respective regions.

Grapevine Gathering will now take place at Sandalford Estate, Swan Valley on January 8; Roche Estate, Hunter Valley on January 15 and Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley on January 22.

Tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Visit the website for more information.
