Golden Plains, one of the most loved events on the Australian festival calendar, is back with even more acts for 2024.

As the anticipation builds for the iconic Golden Plains Sweet Sixteen, the festival organisers have unleashed a powerhouse lineup to complement an already stellar cast of musical maestros.

Taking place over March 9, 10 and 11 and set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre in the glorious Autumn, this year’s festival promises a panoramic long weekend of music, nature, and all-around good vibes.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

The Streets, Yussef Dayes, King Stingray lead Golden Plains 2024 festival lineup

Golden Plains Festival is held on the family property of one of the festival’s organisers, a farm complete with a Ferris wheel, an Ecoplex Cinema and the extremely popular Pink Flamingo Bar. With only one stage, so no timetable clashes, Golden Plains Festival is known primarily for its great music and great culture – the reason that we love the Melbourne music scene so much in the first place.

So, who’s joining?

Jeff Mills Presents Tomorrow Comes The Harvest

Prepare for a mind-bending experience as techno pioneer Jeff Mills takes the stage on Sunday, presenting “Tomorrow Comes The Harvest.” A restless visionary and cultural icon, Mills, known for laying the blueprint for techno, collaborates with the late Afrobeat legend Tony Allen and keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary to transcend genres through improvisation. This one-of-a-kind performance promises to be a levitational journey that defies convention.

Sneaks

Saturday gets a fierce injection of energy with Sneaks, the riot grrrl powerhouse with a map all her own. Zine-maker, songwriter, and punk rock poet, Sneaks blends hypnotic electro-punk and serpentine beats with effortless ingenuity. Her music, shaped in the underground of DC, is a testament to individuality and creativity. Get ready for sharp bursts of punk poetry that set the scene for an unforgettable Saturday.

The Slingers

Hailing from their hometown with a country-dusted indie vibe, The Slingers promise to deliver a moving performance on Sunday. Their songbook, as vast as it is moving, navigates through music’s every nook and cranny, ensuring the audience never sits in one place for too long. With their debut record “Sentimentality” offering a tenderised delight, The Slingers are set to soak up, shake out, and scratch that itch.

Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir

Sunday gets a dose of gospel house glory with Sunshine and her Disco Faith Choir. Originating in Melbourne in 2016, this choir, led by one of the city’s renowned DJs, blends satins, sequins, and exalted voices to create a joyful noise. From disco anthems to gospel-inspired renditions, Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir promise a soul-stirring set that reaches for A Deeper Love.

Kia

Local star on the rise, Kia, takes charge of the Saturday night wee hours with her keen ear for bass-heavy rhythms, IDM, and the deeper shades of techno and trance. With a bubbly presence behind the decks, Kia weaves through genres and emotions, creating musical narratives that surprise and captivate. Her talent for crafting immersive mixes and releases on her label, Animalia, establishes Kia as a force to be reckoned with.

Vv Pete

Mount Druitt’s Badeśt, Vv Pete, drops jaws with her next-gen strip club anthems and Bacardi Papi flexes on late Saturday night. With sharp flow and heavy beats, Vv is turning heads from Hot 97 to Helper Hut V7. Get ready for a performance that blends sharp lyrics and heavy beats, ensuring a Saturday night to remember.

Ben Fester

Closing out the Sweet Sixteen with finesse, Ben Fester, Sydney’s finest selector, is set to take the audience on a musical journey. As a DJ, producer, and tastemaker, Fester’s deejay sets are spoken of in hushed reverential tones. From subterranean electronix to twisted house, the festival’s finale promises to be heavenly.

These acts join the already announced acts in The Streets, King Stingray, Regurgitator, Boris, RVG, Yussef Dayes and Soju Gang, all sharing one stage of golden treasury.

Golden Plains Sweet Sixteen guarantees a once-in-a-lifetime experience, combining musical excellence with the stunning setting of the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this extraordinary festival.
