Their inaugural event was a showstopper, cementing the festival as a fixture of the regions entertainment calendar. Giggles through to the full-belly cackles echoed through host venues Valhalla Taproom, The Brewery, Beavs Bar, The Arborist, Medusa Bar and The Green Room Wine and Whiskey Bar, thanks to their mammoth line-up of local and renowned comics.

Last years Geelong Comedy Festival saw talented hard-hitters take the stage, including Tom Ballad Live, Sarah Maree Cameron in her show One Womb Please!, Nick Capper and Brett Blake teamed up for Double Impact, Evan Hocking with I Don’t Get It…, and a list of laughing stock including Adore Händel, Aiden Willcox and Isaac Haigh, Blake Everett, Chris Martin & Taylor Edwards, and Ellen Mahoney.

The festival was also a chance for local talent to rise up under the spotlight, with this years iteration no different. Geelong Comedy Festival encourage those who live for the cackle, are the comedians of their group or simply need a space to test their zingy-oneliners to submit an application.

Applications can be made directly through the Geelong Comedy Festival website by filling out the Performer Application form. The best part though is that applications fees are free. Even better, there is no charge for venue hire either, with the incredible host venues providing sponsorship to the Geelong Comedy Festival.
