Australia Day Polo

If Darryn Lyons can do it, then you can do it too. So hit up Eastern Park (right beside the Botanic Gardens and Eastern Beach) in Geelong at 11am for all of the entertainment, food, fashion, and of course, horses – think Melbourne Cup Part 2! Tickets range from $105 – $290 depending on where you’d like to be throughout the day.

Australia Day at Irish Murphy’s

Potentially not as Australian as having a BBQ down at the beach, but for another family-friendly option, head to Irish Murphy’s for another celebration featuring Triple J’s Hottest 100, as well as a ‘gourmet’ BBQ style feed, and feed the kids for free! You can even head to their upstairs function room to see the fireworks AND it’s free entry. For more info, head to their Facebook page.

Festival of Sails

The final day of Festival of Sails goes of today with a bang quite literally with the Australia day fireworks going off at 9.30pm. There’ll also be market stalls, plenty of yachts and boats to explore on the pier and free music from Jr Reyne, Katy Perry Tribute, Michael Stangel’s Australian Classic and more. Hit the Waterfront of Geelong.

Bowled Over Festival

If you’re looking at heading up to Melbourne, then this might just be for you! From 11:30am till late into the night, at the St Kilda Bowls Club on Fitzroy Street you can enjoy a huge range of: barefoot lawn bowls, bocce, darts, and pool!
