Tastes of Central Geelong officially kicked off last Friday (July 1) and with so many events day in, day out, we’ve picked a few of our favourites to help you decide.

Late Night Dinner at Bistrot St Jean

Sometimes all you want in life is a delicious French feast, and the chefs at Bistrot are more than happy to make it happen.

Family Feud & Dinner at King George

Who doesn’t love watching a little bit of Grant Denier on Family Feud as families awkwardly answer their way to some serious cash prizes? While things will be a little different at King George’s, the fun and winning is still a factor. No Grant though. Rules will be explained on the night and there’s a $500 prize up for grabs.

Movie and Food Pairing: Breakfast at Tiffany’s

what’s more classic than watching Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s while eating a chocolate croissant? You’ll do just that at the Courthouse Arts special screening.

Walking Analogue Photography Class

Finish your perfectly crafted coffee, and step back in time to the ’80s as you walk around Geelong with an old point and shoot camera capturing everything you see. Tickets include film and developing, as well as the coffee to start.

Barista Training with Coffee Cartel

Ever wanted to craft perfect cups of coffee with latte art to die for? Coffee Cartel may just be able to help you out with that with their barista training. You also get a 250gm packet of beans to take home.

The Back Alley at Down the Alley

Normally open during the day, for Tastes of Central Geelong the cafe swings its doors open for dinner (and drinks) with a Southern America makeover. There’ll be plenty of fried chicken, ribs, chicken wings, corn bread among other delicious menu items. There’s a few cocktails, one with fire as well!

“Meet the Maker” at Union St Wine

For those who love their wine and love even more to see where it comes from, Anthony Brain from Livewire Wines will be in at Union St Wine bar sharing his knowledge. There’ll even be a few wine specials for those wanting to take something home.

Eat Street

For those who love a pairing of food and music, Eat Street should be your first stop this month. Little Malop street is closed off to the public, there’ll be southern vitels from Pistol Pete’s, burgers from The Workers Club, pizza from Caruggi, Greek from #Hashtag, coffee from Cartel and your drinks from Geelong Cellar Bar and Blackman’s Brewery.
