Five Reasons to go to Motor City Music Festival

1. The Music: There are few festivals that cater to the rock, blues and country genres all in one, especially when they’re so close to home. Motor City is the festival that does just that, and when it’s organised by the folk from the legendary Blues Train, you know the blues acts are going to be top notch. Throw in a few cover bands paying homage to the likes of Chrissy Amphlett and you’ve got yourself a mighty fine line up.

2. The Camping: Releasing that a three day festival isn’t complete without camping, this year the festival have organised a nice little spot close to the festival grounds to rest your head. That means you’ll save loads on accommodation and get the convenience of your bed within a few minutes walk.

3. The Fireworks: Think you’ve seen the biggest fireworks display in Geelong? Think again. Motor City has put in the big bucks to ensure you get the best, brightest and biggest fireworks display around.

4. The Entertainment: With musical entertainment sorted for the adults, the festival also has something in line for the kiddies. Sunday is family day, and that means kid’s entertainers and free carnival rides all day; think dodgems, the Cha Cha, the giant slide and more.

5. The Eugene: When it comes to blues music, Eugene Hideaway Bridges is the real deal. Born in New Orleans, he was the son to blues performer Hideaway Slim and was also in a band with his brothers. He’s since toured the world and will be bringing his blues music to Motor City.
