The Festival of Sails has played a key part in the Victorian and Australian yachting calendar since 1844. It is Australia’s oldest sporting event and the largest regatta to take place in the Southern Hemisphere.
Incredibly, every year some 3,000 competitors, 300 boats and 100,000 visitors make their way to Geelong to experience the event. There is plenty more to take in, including fine food and wine, live music, entertainment and roving performers, art and craft market stalls and novelty stalls.
