The program is a feast of both free and ticketed food and wine experiences, gourmet produce, local music and wine masterclasses. Each winery offers its own unique events and experiences, giving attendees plenty of opportunities to meet the individual winemakers, purchase bottles on special and warm up with a glass and an open fire while talented chefs match the region’s renowned cool climate wines with hearty winter fare.
Some of the highlights for this year include a shiraz and gourmet cheese masterclass at Barwon Ridge, mulled wine and churros at del Rios, a shiraz winemaker masterclass at Scotchmans Hill, and a ‘Best of the best’ Shiraz Masterclass and Lunch at Provenance Wines.
There’s also a special BBQ, blues and Shiraz evening at Bellarine Estate, an epic Burning of the Canes event at Austin’s, and a huge barrel hall shiraz sale at Mt Duneed Estate.
And that’s all barely scraping the surface – it’s impossible not to be tempted by so many of our wineries offering some special for absolutely anyone, kids included.
So go on, mark your calendars for a celebration of Geelong’s world-class Shiraz!
