Presented by Bloom.
If you’re planning to head out in the city for some drinks this season, the legends over at Bloom have you covered with their newest venture.
Meet Elysian Fields, a new cocktail bar and drinking destination for the people of Geelong. Located within Bloom, the venture was spawned following the closure of the nightclub earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and dancefloor restrictions.
Since opening up on Moorabool Street a couple of years ago now, Bloom has earned themselves a strong reputation as the home for underground music, hosting the likes of Patrick Topping, Boo Seeka, CamelPhat, and CC:Disco, among others. Heck, they even provided a pretty sweet throwback to the ’90s with a performance from Coolio, and have been strong supporters of the local DJ scene too, regular hosting Geelong-based talent since day one.
While the nightclub can’t exactly run how it used to for the time being, Elysian Fields is their answer to serving seated patrons as a boozy, low-key hotspot, thanks to a complete renovation of the space. Punters can expect a chilled and eclectic drinking experience, with the venue promising ‘tasty bevs in a venue of comfort and style’. Top-shelf spirits will be king here and vegan-friendly cocktails will be their specialty, with a range of classics and creative concoctions on offer.
For those that like to share or that just really enjoy a drink (no judgement), they’ll also be offering ‘cocktail kegs’ in the form of jugs, just to mix it up.
But wait, there’s more.
Continuing their commitment to the club scene and the dancefloor, the venue has now been split into two sections – the aforementioned cocktail bar and a club section. Keeping the Bloom vibe we know and love, the venue will kick off into club mode after midnight with the very best in disco and house tunes until the early hours of the morning. This section will open as soon as the current restrictions placed on dancefloors and nightclubs are lifted.
At the end of the day, all you need to know is that it’s a Bloom venture and everything they do, they do with passion and to an extremely high standard so we can promise you won’t be disappointed.
Elysian Fields will be open this weekend, Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28 from 6pm until late.
