Double Vanity parody 80s commercialisation in new video for On Bland

Naarm/Melbourne-based trio Double Vanity have today released the 80s inspired video clip for their song On Bland.

Perfectly and hilariously lampooning the rise in mass commercialisation and product placement of the era through a kitsch, whip-smart parody of retro infomercials, it’s the perfect accompaniment to their synth-filled song.

Self-described as ‘airportwave’, Double Vanity bring visions of an 80s retro-future to the forefront with their trademark glittering synths and layered vocals. Hot off the release of their latest LP, Love To Leave YouDouble Vanity’s On Bland brings their signature bass grooves, analogue drum machine kicks and soaring rhythm guitars to 80s synthpop.

The clip was produced, filmed and directed by Geoffrey O’Connor, who also directed the video clip for their single ‘Night Moves’ – a track that charted at number one on Soundcloud’s Electronic Top 40 Charts.

Mixed and mastered by Naomune Anzai (Teskey Brothers, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks), Love To Leave You is out across most streaming platforms and available to purchase on vinyl.
