Curt Manor releases Wes Anderson inspired clip to single ‘Adelphi Hotel Nightmare

Curt Manor is an emerging alt-folk artist from Sydney, existing in a brooding, heavy-narrative based world and has just released the single of his new clip ‘Adelphi Hotel Nightmare’.

Written in and inspired by the hotel of the same name in London, the video was filmed in the Southern Highlands of NSW at a hotel frequented by Curt Manor when he was a child, and takes inspiration from Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, giving a nod to the hedge maze scene in Kubrick’s The Shining.

“It was stylistically inspired by Kubrick’s the Shining and the work of Wes Anderson, in particular, the Grand Budapest Hotel. The concept of having the inanimate Hotel as a character was an exciting concept to work with,” says Curt Manor.

“I used to take an annual holiday with my family in winter to a Grand Hotel for Christmas in July. I’d stay up late and sneak through the hallways and up and down the hidden staircases with my brother. This seemed like the perfect location.”

Curt Manor teamed up with director Samuel Bright and cinematographer Dale Bremner to shoot over a couple days and capture the essence of ‘Adelphi Hotel Nightmare’.

‘Adelphi Hotel Nightmare’ is taken from the debut EP When the Sun is Low from the Sydney newcomer. The release has already gained acclaim throughout the music industry, and with this expertly crafted cinematic clip it hints to big things ahead for Curt Manor.
