‘Maniac’ and ‘Comfort Crowd’ singer-songwriter Conan Gray has just revealed details of an Aussie tour, slated to perform at three special East Coast shows later this year.
Coined a bold pop Prince with lashings of moves, hooks and melodies, this tour will be off the back of his upcoming debut album Kid Krow which arrives March 20, and will see the Texas-born, Japan-reared, California-raised revelation revel in displaying the modernist pop nuggets that have seen him clock up millions of streams and landed him on stage at Late Night with Seth Meyers and on tour with like-minded legends Panic! At the Disco. Not a bad result from his YouTube beginnings with his channel ConanXCanon, hey?
Tracks like his breakout single ‘Idle Town’, smooth miracle ‘Crush Culture’ and the dance-tastic ‘Maniac’ showcase Gray’s keen knack for holding up a glitter-covered mirror to a generation growing up hyper-aware of their unique position in modern pop culture.
Conan Gray will take to Australian stages in September, kicking off at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, before heading to Melbourne’s Forum and wrapping it all up at Luna Park in Syndey.
Tickets go on sale Friday March 6 at 10am here.
