Scream! This is Halloween.
It’s that time of year again – Halloween is making its return Monday 31 October 2022! While we may not have the same cultural attachment to Halloween as Americans, will we let that minor detail prevent us from indulging? Hell no we won’t. And, as is tradition, it’s time for an annual spooktacular of tricks, treats and events to make the most of the spookiest time of the year.
Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.
Go Trick or Treating in your neighbourhood
Various locations – October 31
Get on out there and take part in traditional trick or treating where you knock on someone’s door and fill your bag with lollies. A lot of people, especially those with families and kids, tend to go all out over the Halloween weekend and dress up their houses in some of the very best decorations.
There’s a Facebook page called Geelong Halloween Trick or Treat that encourage locals to submit their address if they’re participating in Halloween for keen trick or treaters. They make a map and everything. Generally, Mt Duneed, Curlewis, Leopold, and Armstrong Creek are suburbs that usually turn it on for Halloween. If in doubt, simply search ‘Halloween’ in community groups and you’re sure to find a whole lot of locals getting involved.
There’s also a the Biggest Free Halloween Trick or Treat in Victoria (and Regional Victoria), organised by Free Kids Events Melbourne. Here you’ll find more than 1000 houses on a map with places participating on Halloween with Decorated Houses, Trick-or-Treat Houses, or attend Special Events in the community on October 31. Check it out here.
