Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys are heading to Ballarat and Castlemaine

words by staff writer

Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys offer up Sidelines, the final preview from their elevated second album All Night Long which will be out through Spunk Records on October 13th.

Sidelines (out now) is the most complete summation of this road proven, genre leading outfit and a honey pot for anyone with a taste for 70’s FM haze and indelibly deft hooks. The Pony Boys channel peak 70’s Mac live, while Harnett delivers honesty in her sweetest tone straight from the hip.

“I wrote this song for my sister who was being bullied by her (now ex, thank god haha) partners family,” Harnett shares. “It was a really tough time for her, they put her through hell, so I wanted to write this song for her to give her back some power and to remind her to just keep staying true to herself. I’ve never really understood why people have to put others down to feel better about themselves.”

Caitlin Harnett and The Pony Boys’ second album All Night Long is a thrilling exploration of inner-city country music’s outer limits. Recorded live and produced and mixed by Joseph Ireland (The Middle East, Joseph Liddy & The Skeleton Horse), All Night Long stamps Harnett and The Pony Boys as marquee players in the roots adjacent scene.

Sidelines out Sept 21, All Night Long out Oct 13 through Spunk Records. Pre-order All Night Long here.
