Carlton & United Breweries will support the local live music and hospitality industries to the tune of around $100,000 as part of CUB’s LIV LOUD 2023 program collaboration with Ausmusic T-Shirt Day next month.

Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) is set to ignite the Australian music scene with a bold $100,000 initiative, ‘Liv Loud,’ to support the local live music and hospitality industries. In partnership with Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, this musical extravaganza is all set to hit the stage next month.

The ‘Liv Loud 2023’ program, aimed at breathing new life into the music and hospitality sectors, is gaining traction with around 40 venues across the nation participating in its inaugural year. Each of these venues is set to receive a cash grant, a move that’s expected to set off live events on off-peak days throughout the month of November.

The lineup for this electrifying showcase boasts a mix of both emerging talents and established music legends. Breakout artists such as Pacific Avenue, alongside the renowned radio personality Matty O’Gorman, will share the stage with Australian acts like You Am I, Boy & Bear, and Touch Sensitive.

In a move highlighting their commitment to community welfare, CUB will also contribute funds to the charity ‘Support Act’ in December. This step aims to further strengthen their ongoing work in providing crisis relief support and mental health programs across the country.

Speaking about ‘Liv Loud 2023,’ CUB Artists & Events Manager, Marcus Knight, emphasized its continuity with CUB’s rich history of supporting live music. Knight commented, “We’re delighted to be partnering with Support Act to deliver this initiative and continue our long-standing tradition of supporting Aussie pubs.”

The grants offered to these venues are set to breathe life into these events, enabling them to cover performers’ fees, production costs, and even hire additional staff. This initiative promises to pull the crowds on off-peak nights, providing punters with a fantastic time. After all, live bands, trivia nights, and performances are an integral part of the pub culture, and ‘Liv Loud 2023’ is committed to supporting these traditions, while also bolstering the broader hospitality industry.

One of the bands headlining the event, Dave Hosking, lead singer of Boy & Bear, expressed his excitement: “We are really looking forward to playing as part of the inaugural Liv Loud lineup alongside so many other great acts supporting Ausmusic month, Ausmusic T-shirt day and Support Act. And it’s so good to see so many gigs and tours coming out to regional venues after such a rollercoaster few years for the music industry.”

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, scheduled for November 30 this year, is an annual event coordinated by Support Act to raise urgently-needed funds for music workers in crisis. Throughout November, Aussies can show their support by purchasing an Aussie music T-shirt, making a donation to Support Act, or setting up a fundraising team.

Support Act’s CEO, Clive Miller, applauded CUB’s initiative, saying, “LIV LOUD 2023 creates opportunities for live performers and hospitality staff while giving people a terrific night out and supporting a good cause. It really is a win-win all round.”

Marcus Knight echoed the sentiment, stating, “CUB are proud to partner with Ausmusic T-Shirt Day and Support Act in 2023, uniting with Australian artists and the hospitality sector who consistently service the Australian community. We acknowledge and support the critical service of Support Act in the delivery of crisis relief to musicians, managers, crew, and music workers.”
