It seems only fitting that a house that has lived life as a surgery, a brothel and a boarding home should become a home for five guys with a love of music.
And that seems as good a way as any to introduce Sydney’s Big White, a band that effortlessly channels the likes of The Cure, Dick Diver and Talking Heads. To help fund their recent US and Europe adventures, the band hosted a little house party.
Some 400 people showed up for the event, a figure good enough to help them enjoy a 40-run date which included performances at SXSW and Treefort Festival, as well a solid number of dates in New York City. Teenage Dreams is their album. The Karova, Ballarat – July 10.
