When you see your name alongside the likes of Busby Marou, Blue King Brown, Xavier Rudd and The Bamboos, it has to be a good feeling.
That’s what happened with singer-songwriter Ben Wright Smith, who was a 2016 ARPA ‘Blues & Roots Work of the Year’ nominee. Although he didn’t take out the prize, his nominated track ‘No One’ sure has been doing pretty nicely.
He has also been working with writing buddy Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy) on his debut album, due for release later in the year. With new songs to share (or a need for human interaction and sunlight, as he puts it), the songman will be heading out on the road for a handful of shows.
